Board Will Hold Community Briefing on DCCAS Performance

Washington, D.C. - The D.C. Public Charter School Board will report charter school results on the DCCAS, the citywide standardized test administered this past spring, during its monthly meeting on Monday, August 18, 2008. The briefing will include analysis of school-level performance in math and reading this year, improvement over the past two test cycles, comparisons across schools, and this year's AYP results. The presentation will be targeted to parents and community members who want to understand what the test results mean for their children and the schools in their communities. PCSB staff will provide handouts, and time will be allotted for questions and public comment at the end of the meeting. As always, the PCSB's monthly meetings are open to the public, but community members are encouraged to call the PCSB headquarters to confirm their attendance. Community members who are unable to attend may request mailed or electronic copies of the results and analysis after the meeting. The meeting will take place at the PCSB headquarters at 3333 14th Street, NW , beginning at 7:30 pm.
